LINKÖPING SCHOOL

Kungsberget Public School is a new educational city block located in central Linköping, Sweden.

The new public school will be an education node for children and youth. Besides daytime education it is also housing the cultural school and sport halls which results in an activity at the school also during evenings. The different functions of the school are being held together by a big roof that is giving a feeling of unity for the whole block. The folded roof gives a rhythm and playful silhouette that is also translated to the courtyard where the folded facades creates a diverse outdoor environment with pockets where different activities can take place.

The wood construction and facade is characteristic within the culture of Nordic design and adds a warm and welcoming atmosphere to the school building,
